Job Summary
12-month Physician Assistant Fellowship in inpatient hospital medicine with rotations across general medicine, oncology, cardiology, critical care, and potential infectious disease/palliative care. Responsibilities include direct patient care with guidance from attending physicians, performing histories and physical examinations, orders and interpretation of laboratory/diagnostic tests, developing plans of care and follow-up, writing prescriptions, and documenting care. Fellows engage in didactic sessions, simulation, and participation in department teaching, QA/QI projects, and multidisciplinary rounds. The program emphasizes clinical mentorship, professional development, and preparation for independent practice with extensive collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other providers; required to engage in teaching activities and continue education using hospital systems (EMR/Epic).
Required Qualifications
- Official transcript from PA training program
- Current Curriculum Vitae detailing work and volunteer experiences prior to PA school
- Three references (at least one from a physician preceptor/supervisor, one from a PA/NP, and one from PA program)
- Personal statement (one page) stating interest in the Fellowship
- Two letters of recommendation from faculty member or clinical rotation preceptor/educator
