Job Summary
Physician Assistant in Family Medicine providing outpatient care under the direction of collaborating physicians. Responsibilities include obtaining detailed history and performing physical examinations, ordering imaging and laboratory tests, interpreting results, instructing patients on prescribed therapies and pre/post operative instructions, maintaining records and progress notes, and following patients through treatment in the clinic setting. Collaborates with physicians and health-care team to achieve optimal outcomes, prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies as appropriate, demonstrates evidence-based practice, participates in development and evaluation of standards of practice, assesses learning needs of patients and families, promotes wellness and preventative care, and works autonomously within an interdisciplinary team in the direct management of acute and chronic illness within an outpatient setting.
Required Qualifications
- License: Physician Assistant (PA) Licensure in Illinois
- Federal DEA license
- Illinois Controlled Substances License
- BLS/CPR certification
