Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic test interpretations for neurosurgical conditions to formulate treatment plans. Perform office procedures, obtain informed consent, and manage triage, prior authorizations, and prescription refills. Evaluate postoperative patients, review radiographic reports, and coordinate care with primary physicians and other agencies. Maintain accurate billing documentation, assist in quality monitoring reviews, and attend weekly endovascular conferences. Provide patient education and counseling while adhering to strict confidentiality requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from accredited PA program
- Registration and current license as a PA
- 2-5 years medical office or hospital experience
- Willingness to participate as a team member
- Ability to travel if necessary
- Ability to use wide range of computer programs including EMR, preferably Medent
- Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills
- Excellent oral, communication and telephone skills
- A highly confidential position. Must have the ability to keep all aspects of this job confidential
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and composure when handling difficult employees/stressful situations
- Ability to work and reason independently
