Job Summary
Diagnose illnesses and formulate treatment plans for neurosurgical conditions through comprehensive histories, physical examinations, and interpretation of laboratory and diagnostic tests. Perform office procedures, obtain informed consent, and manage triage, prior authorizations, and prescription refills while reviewing radiographic reports for abnormalities. Evaluate postoperative patients, conduct follow-up visits, and assist with surgeries and procedures under the supervision of an attending neurosurgeon in both hospital and ambulatory settings. Maintain accurate billing documentation, coordinate care with primary physicians, and participate in weekly endovascular conferences and quality monitoring reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from accredited PA program
- Registration and current license as a PA
- 2-5 years medical office or hospital experience
- Willingness to participate as a team member
- Ability to travel if necessary
- Ability to use wide range of computer programs including EMR, preferably Medent
- Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills
- Excellent oral, communication and telephone skills
