Job Summary
Conduct initial assessments, histories, and physical examinations for in- and outpatients in the Emergency Department. Order and interpret lab, radiology, and EKG tests; formulate diagnoses and implement treatment plans. Perform procedures including IVs, foley catheter insertion, suturing, and splinting, while managing Code 64 emergencies and trauma reassessments. Document all care, orders, and patient education in compliance with hospital policy. Consult with physicians as needed and triage patients appropriately.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a PA program accredited by The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, or its predecessor
- Current NCCPA certification
- Current New York State license as Registered Physician Assistant
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced Life Support certification (ACLS, PALS) through the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics
