Job Summary
The Physician Assistant – Primary Care provides direct patient care in an outpatient clinic setting under physician supervision, including patient assessment and diagnosis, formulating treatment plans, prescribing medications, ordering and interpreting tests, and patient education. Works collaboratively with the supervising physician and health-care team; proficient in EMR (Epic preferred); requires NCCPA certification and state licensure in CA/NV with ability to obtain as needed; travel between California and Nevada clinics and occasional on-site duties are involved. Strong communication, teamwork, and adherence to clinical protocols are essential; duties include documentation, coding/records, and participation in quality improvement and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant training program
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Currently licensed as a Physician Assistant in Nevada and California, or ability to obtain prior to start date as required
- Current CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association (BLS for the Healthcare Provider)
- FMCSA DOT Medical Examiner Certificate required within 6 months of starting
