Job Summary

Establish diagnosis and treatment plans for acute and chronic illnesses, conduct physical exams, and prescribe medications within the scope of licensure. Order appropriate labs and diagnostic imaging, consult with patients and providers via telephone, and maintain accurate documentation of all visits and communications in the EMR. Participate in quality assurance activities, provider meetings, and projects as assigned while navigating clinical guidelines for drug regimens and well adult care. Deliver primary care and designated specialty services to patients, families, and visitors in a walk-in clinic setting.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of Urgent Care, Walk In Clinic or Family Medicine experience
  • Successful completion of an approved Physician Assistant program
  • Active Washington State Physician Assistant License or Advance Registered Nurse Practitioner License or the ability to obtain one
  • BLS certification
  • Ability to maintain licensure and required continuing education
  • Ability to navigate EMR to document patient information
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively
  • Must have demonstrated ability to interact positively with Administration, Directors, Managers, Supervisors, peers, co-workers, subordinates, patients and visitors
  • Function at all times within Island Hospital's guidelines for HIPAA compliance and Confidentiality requirements
  • Must have regular attendance standard and must stay at or below average sick leave utilization levels
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities (CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, etc.)
  • Crisis assessment and intervention expertise
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with electronic health records
  • Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of Urgent Care, Walk In Clinic or Family Medicine experience and will require some clinical independence
