Job Summary
Cardiothoracic Surgery opportunity for a Physician Assistant to join Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. The APP will be the first assist in all cardiac and thoracic operations, manage the CVICU as well as the step-down unit, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary CTS team. Responsibilities include assisting in open-heart and thoracic procedures, participation in a high-volume program (including robotic lobectomies, TAVRs, and MitraClip), and contributing to quality/outcomes improvement, research, and educational initiatives. The role emphasizes a strong medical background, ability to develop a practice within a growing multispecialty group, vein harvest experience, and ongoing Idaho medical licensure. Schedule involves five 8-hour shifts for ~3 months, then four 10-hour shifts per week (roughly 6 a.m.–4 p.m.). Benefits include a $20,000 sign-on bonus, relocation, PTO & CME, malpractice tail coverage, health/dental/vision, and retirement plan.
Required Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant medical license in Idaho
- valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Board of Pharmacy and DEA
- Vein harvest experience required
- Previous Physician Assistant experience in cardiac disease management
