Job Summary
Per Diem Physician Assistant joining the Inpatient Cardiology team for as-needed coverage on 10-hour day shifts at Newton-Wellesley Hospital (Mass General Brigham). The PA will practice autonomously at the top of their licensure, consult hospitalized patients, perform daily rounds, order and interpret diagnostic tests, discuss evaluations with attending physicians to develop treatment plans, participate in discharge planning and summaries, and educate patients and families. The role emphasizes high-quality, patient-centered cardiology care within a collaborative team, with responsibilities including direct patient care, histories and physicals, medication orders, documentation, and bedside procedures as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Physician Assistant or equivalent
- Physician Assistant license (state)
- 2 years of experience as a PA
- Cardiology inpatient experience preferred
- Active state license for Physician Assistant
- Ability to practice autonomously at top of licensure
- Proficient in ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and presenting evaluations to attending physicians
- Experience with discharge planning and discharge summaries
- Experience with patient and family education
