Job Summary
Provide comprehensive medical care, perform therapeutic measures, and prescribe medications including controlled substances for inpatient and outpatient populations. Evaluate treatment plans, coordinate clinical research studies, and monitor cost effectiveness. Facilitate patient throughput during admission and discharge, provide therapeutic regimen consultations to nursing staff, and ensure continuity of care across home care and other facilities. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop therapeutic plans and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Maintain board certification, annual CME, and current expertise in nephrology and hyperbaric/wound healing protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Physician Assistant Bachelor's Degree (BA-PA)
- Current New York State Physician Assistant License
- NCCPA Board Certification
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
- Physician Assistant Lic-NYS
- Ntl Com Cert Physician Asst
- Basic Life Support Cert
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a physician assistant
- Physician assistant fellowship experience
- At least 2 years of clinical rotation in various medical, surgical and other specialty areas
- Membership in professional specialty organizations
- Advanced Life Support certification (ACLS, PALS) through the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics
