Job Summary
Provide primary medical care for adult patients at the Long Beach Health Center and other APLA Health clinics as needed. Conduct histories and physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, establish treatment plans, administer or prescribe medications, and document in the medical record within 48 hours of encounters. Address test results, refill requests, and messages per policies. Deliver health maintenance and preventive care per standards and participate in QA and PrEP/PEP protocols. See 14+ patients per workday with ~10% administrative time. On-site or hybrid 5 days per week with on-call duties by phone. Must hold CA PA license, DEA license, and BLS/CPR; eligible for Medicare/Medi-Cal; experience with electronic health records (eClinicalWorks preferred). Special requirements include valid CA driver’s license, auto insurance, personal vehicle for work, and COVID vaccination/booster or exemptions. Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- Valid California Physician Assistant license with no pending or previous disciplinary action from any state licensing entity
- Minimum 1 year experience managing primary care patients
- Current DEA license
- BLS/CPR certification
- Eligible to participate in Medicare, Medi-Cal, PACT and other federal health programs
- UPIN (Unique Provider Identification Number)
- Experience with electronic health records (eClinicalWorks preferred)
