Job Summary
Conduct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under physician supervision by taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, and interpreting laboratory and radiology test results. Administer injections, immunizations, sutures, and wound management while prescribing medications per the collaborative agreement. Document patient care accurately, counsel patients on therapeutic regimens and wellness, and develop patient management plans with the supervising physician. Monitor performance of nurses, technicians, and medical assistants while maintaining infection control protocols and professional knowledge through educational workshops.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited physician assistant curriculum
- Certification by passing of the Physician Assistant National Certification Exam (PANCE)
- Licensure to practice in the State of Illinois
- Controlled Substance License
- DEA
- Must be able to complete computer work
