Job Summary
Provide anesthesia services to all categories and types of patients requiring surgical or procedural intervention. Administer diagnostic and therapeutic nerve blocks for acute and chronic pain. Oversee recovery room activities and deliver appropriate drug and respiratory therapy in the recovery room setting. Instruct nurse anesthesia students, physicians, interns, and rotating physicians in proper administration of anesthesia. Perform advanced diagnostic and treatment procedures and contribute to treatment planning with knowledge of new techniques. Salary determination proceeds after offer through a panel process; salary is tiered by position specialty, grade, and location. This position is a Direct Hire Solicitation at Brooke Army Medical Center in Ft. Sam Houston, TX, and requires US citizenship.
Required Qualifications
- Degree: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or equivalent from an accredited US/Canadian school; ECFMG or equivalent for foreign-trained physicians
- Current, active, full, unrestricted medical license in the US (state, DC, PR, or territory)
- Residency training in Anesthesiology with at least 4 years of equivalent experience; completion of accredited residency program
- Board-eligibility/board-certification in Anesthesiology (as applicable)
- US citizenship (as stated in posting)
- Graduate training verification and transcripts as required by applying package
