Physical Therapy Orthopedic Resident in Ivy Rehab’s outpatient setting, enrolling full-time in the Orthopedic Residency Program offered with Hospital for Special Surgery. The role focuses on completing required didactic modules, live patient examinations, case projects, mentor hours, and hands-on clinical hours while maintaining employment as a full-time Ivy Rehab therapist. The program supports mentorship, continuing education and professional development with a pathway toward orthopedic specialization; participants must pursue ABPTS Orthopedic Clinical Specialist exam, stay enrolled in the residency program, and commit to at least two years of employment post-graduation. The residency requires a salary that aligns with a full-time employee and includes program tuition with optional payment plans, and a 2-year post-graduation employment commitment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Program
- Active PT licensure in current state of practice, prior to Residency start date
- Employed as a Full-time Therapist for at least 3 months by Ivy Rehab Network, prior to the program start date
- Required membership in associated professional organization by the start of the residency
- Commitment to successfully completing all program requirements including independent study
- Commitment to taking the ABPTS Orthopedic Clinical Specialist exam at earliest eligibility
- Commitment to a minimum of two years of continued employment at Ivy Rehab, post-graduation from program
- Completion of all required didactic modules (300+ hours)
- Completion of all assessments, logs and forms
- Completion of Live Patient Examinations
- Satisfactory completion of all skills lists
- Passing of all required quizzes
- Satisfactory completion of required presentations
- Completion of case report abstract
- Completion of Residency Special Project
- Completion of 150 mentor hours
- Complete a minimum of 1,500 patient care hours during residency year
- Attendance and participation in all scheduled residency education events
- Satisfactory achievement of all resident core competencies
- Program Tuition: $5,500 and related tuition-payment options
