Job Summary
Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) under the direction of a Physical Therapist collaborates to implement treatment plans aimed at restoring/improving mobility, strength, coordination, and range of motion across patients, with education provided to patients/families and discharge instructions when appropriate. Responsibilities include selecting and adjusting activities to progress toward goals, documenting treatment sessions, coordinating with staff and families, serving as a referral source for rehabilitation services, adhering to ethical standards and infection prevention practices, and participating in mandatory training and program guidelines within Wellstar Health System in Georgia. The role emphasizes teamwork, patient-centered care, and adherence to regulatory standards; shift is Day, PRN in Roswell, GA.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Physical Therapy or PTA program
- PTA - Physical Therapist Assistant license/certification
- BLS - Basic Life Support (or ARC-BLS) - required upon hire
- BLS-Instructor (optional per posting)
- Effective communication skills, customer service oriented, team oriented, basic computer skills
- High school diploma (as per posting)
