Job Summary
Provide appropriate therapy and treatment to persons recognized as in need of physical therapy, delivering services from assessment through therapy and necessary follow-up under the direction of a licensed physical therapist. Assist patients of all ages, from children through geriatrics, while performing workplace/industry/job site analysis, pre-work screening, and ergonomic assessments. Maintain current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS certification and communicate effectively with patients and team members using strong verbal skills and empathetic listening. Work independently with minimal direction, utilizing strong computer knowledge to execute technical skills associated with procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program for Physical Therapy Assistants
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to communicate well verbally
- Ability to work with independence and with minimal direction
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in the provision of physical therapy services
- experience with workplace/industry/job site analysis
- Pre work screening and/or ergonomic assessment
- Experience in acute, long term care and/or outpatient therapy
- High degree of empathetic listening, tact and kindness toward others
- Strong computer knowledge
- Ability to perform technical skills associated with procedures listed in this job description
