Job Summary
Apply skills learned during academic training and educational programs to treat patient and family needs. Demonstrate competency in implementing treatment plans, documenting appropriately, and evaluating effectiveness while modifying plans as indicated. Provide appropriate information at team, family, and home health conferences. Maintain current knowledge of therapy techniques through in-service classes and continuing education required by state licensure. Assist in appropriate treatments, assess care accuracy, and provide feedback to the Department Head. Seek necessary input from staff and physicians to ensure ongoing patient care. Use therapy devices including exercise tables, fitness equipment, assistive devices, wheelchairs, pulleys, and weights. Demonstrate safety awareness in all aspects of patient care. Participate in HIPAA training and abide by privacy rules. Assist Physical Therapists with therapy and assistant students, providing feedback on their clinical education.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Currently licensed in the State of Wyoming or eligible for licensure
- Certified in CPR
- Ability to attend educational training and seminars
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Exceptional ability to work with employees under fast-paced working conditions
