Job Summary
Direct physical therapy services under the direction of a physical therapist and physician's plan of care. Treat patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance through active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait training, and prosthetic training. Utilize physical agents including heat, cold, ultrasound, and massage while instructing patients on the use of wheelchairs, braces, and assistive devices. Observe and report patient reactions and condition changes to the physical therapist and organization personnel. Maintain clinical and conference notes within prescribed time frames and participate in home care team meetings and in-service education programs. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program with either an Associate's degree in science or applied science that is approved by American Physical Therapy Association, Inc.
- Current certification or license as required by state law
- Demonstrates good verbal and written communication and organization skills
- Possess and maintain current CPR certification
