Job Summary
Provide skilled therapeutic interventions to patients and monitor their response to treatment as directed by the Physical Therapist. Document patient treatment and progress toward goals in the electronic health record while implementing established treatment programs. Educate patients and families on care plans, and precept students from participating colleges and universities. Maintain accurate records, adhere to departmental policies on safety and infection control, and report patient observations to the Physical Therapist. Work 40 weekly hours across days and evenings at St. Charles Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of current practice
- BLS Basic Life Support
- Demonstrates appropriate application of age specific standards, policies and procedures and guidelines in caring for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Demonstrates general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management
- Analytical abilities to evaluate patient condition, capabilities and progress
- Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with co-workers, physicians, patients and families
- Requires the ability to work well with all levels of patients, the public and other health care professionals
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills
Desired Qualifications
- BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, required within 30 days for BSMH, required at hire for RSFH)
