Job Summary
Conduct physical therapy treatments under the direction of a physical therapist to address impairments and functional limitations following injury, disease, or debility. Complete evaluations and basic treatment designs utilizing a wide variety of modalities and assistive devices to maximize functional ability. Organize and lead clinical activities within the Rehabilitation Department while collaborating with diverse individuals and disciplines. Demonstrate understanding of the developmental aging process and communicate wellness concepts to clients of all age categories. Requires an Associate Degree in Applied Science, NC licensure, and BLS certification. This PRN role includes a minimum of one weekend and one holiday per month.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Applied Science from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program (grandfather clause acceptable)
- Annual certificate of license by the State of North Carolina
- BLS Certification
- Ability to organize and conduct clinical activities of the Rehabilitation Department
- Demonstrate an understanding of the developmental aging process as it relates to the physical assessment and treatment of patients of all age categories
- Exhibits professionalism in all interactions within the hospital system and the outside public
- Able to work in collaboration with a variety of individuals and disciplines
- Understands the wellness concept and can communicate with clients from the wellness perspective
- Thorough theoretical and clinical/practical knowledge of evaluations and basic treatment designs for a wide variety of diagnoses, physical therapy modalities, assistive devices to help maximize functional ADL, and the application and instruction in use of prosthetic/orthotic devices
- Required to work a minimum of one (1) weekend per month and one (1) holiday per year

- One year of clinical experience preferred
