Job Summary
The role supports the Physical Therapist by performing duties delegated to the Physical Therapy Assistant that align with the PTA education and training, including aquatic therapy assistance, to aid in patient care and department operations. The PTA works under supervision to deliver patient care, apply procedures, and utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, neurology, pathology, therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and goniometry to assess and assist patients across ages, with CPR ready for emergencies, and shifts including days with some weekend coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Two-year college program for Physical Therapy Assistant leading to an Associate Degree
- Eligibility for state licensure or registration in Ohio
- Experience preferred but new grads acceptable
- CPR certification
- Ability to work with patients of varying ages
- Aquatic therapy experience (involves aquatic therapy)
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, neurology, pathology, psychology
- Familiarity with therapeutic exercises, muscle testing, therapy modalities, manual therapy, goniometric measurements
- Ability to meet emergencies
- Shift: Days; Some weekends
