Job Summary
Implement treatment plans developed by Physical Therapists for acute care patients, including orthopedic, neurological, and cardiopulmonary cases. Assist with therapeutic exercises, gait training, and mobility while monitoring patient response and reporting progress to the supervising PT. Support discharge planning, patient education, and accurate documentation using Allscripts. Utilize assistive devices and rehabilitation equipment safely across a diverse population of pediatric to adult patients. Maintain active Texas PTA licensure and BLS certification for this 13-week contract at Hendrick Medical Center.
Required Qualifications
- Active Texas PTA License
- BLS Certification (AHA)
- Minimum 2 years of PTA experience in acute care or related setting
- Experience with diverse patient populations
- Monday – Friday or rotating schedule (5 days/week)
- May include Saturday coverage while maintaining 40 hours
- 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM shifts
- Weekend rotation possible depending on schedule
- Start ASAP (within 3–5 weeks preferred)
- No local candidates accepted (50-mile radius rule)
- Facility conducts on-site drug screening (including marijuana) – strict compliance required
- All compliance labs must be completed within 72 hours of offer
- Active state licensure and certification verification
- Resume and skills checklist
- Facility onboarding and modules (6–8 hours, non-billable)
- Pre-employment drug screen and health requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Acute care hospital experience
- Familiarity with Allscripts / Altera charting systems
- Travel experience preferred
