Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) will direct, modify and administer physical therapy modalities under the supervision of the staff physical therapist, assisting with restoration of patient functioning and achievement of maximum potential within the patient’s capabilities. Responsibilities include applying knowledge of anatomy, physiology, neurology, kinesiology, and physical science to specialized treatment techniques, implementing the plan of care established by the physical therapist, and supporting patient progress after injury, surgery, disease, or disability. Requires being duly licensed as a PTA, graduate of an accredited PTA program, and current BLS CPR certification. Education typically corresponds to an associate degree (2-year program).
