Job Summary
Assist the Physical Therapist in planning, developing, organizing, evaluating, and directing physical therapy activities for residents. Conduct daily therapy services, including interviewing residents to evaluate daily living skills, administering treatments, and instructing residents and families on adaptive equipment. Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and billing codes while facilitating telehealth evaluations and recertifications. Participate in care conferences, discharge planning, and resident assessments to address goals in the Plan of Care. Ensure safety and infection control standards are followed, report concerns to the Director of Rehabilitation, and honor resident rights and treatment refusals. Requires an active Ohio PTA license, ability to lift up to 45 pounds, and adherence to HIPAA and facility policies.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited program conferring the title of Physical Therapist Assistant
- Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Ohio
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Knowledgeable of physical therapy procedures
- Leadership and supervisory ability
- Willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the physical therapy service
- Ability to maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of therapy areas
- Willingness to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing therapy services
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
- Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this Facility, which may include a medical and physical examination
- Minimum of 5 pounds and a maximum of 45 pounds lifting, periodically and or as needed
