Job Summary

Conduct physical therapy services for residents by administering treatments, selecting exercises based on medical history, and instructing patients on adaptive equipment. Assist the Physical Therapist in planning care, evaluating daily living skills, and addressing goals in the Plan of Care at least once weekly. Facilitate telehealth services to ensure evaluations, progress notes, and discharges are completed timely while maintaining accurate documentation and billing. Transport residents, prepare equipment, and promote participation in group activities, adhering to all infection control and safety protocols. Honor resident refusals of treatment and report medical concerns or grievances to supervisors. Maintain therapy areas and inventory, operating equipment safely and utilizing personal protective gear when necessary. Work in office, therapy, and resident rooms, constantly alert for safety while communicating with families, physicians, and other departments. Requires an active Ohio PTA license and ability to lift up to 45 pounds.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited program conferring the title of Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Ohio
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Knowledgeable of physical therapy procedures
  • Leadership and supervisory ability
  • Willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the physical therapy service
  • Ability to maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of therapy areas
  • Willingness to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing therapy services
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
  • Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this Facility, which may include a medical and physical examination
  • Minimum of 5 pounds and a maximum of 45 pounds lifting, periodically and or as needed
