Job Summary
Physical Therapy Assistant provides treatment under the Physical Therapist's program in patients' homes, coordinates changes in patient condition with the supervising PT, educates patients and families on the therapy plan and home exercise program, documents patient progress, participates in conferences, and maintains licensure and continuing education. Requires an Associate degree from an APTA-accredited PTA program, active PTA licensure in applicable states, CPR certification, a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation, and the ability to travel locally to patient homes. Prolonged standing/walking and lifting up to 50 lbs are required; responsibilities include documentation, communication with the PT, and adhering to professional standards.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of experience as a PT in a clinical care setting
- Associate degree from an APTA-accredited PTA program
- Current State PTA license (in applicable states)
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to travellocally to patient homes
- Prolonged standing/walking and ability to lift/transfer up to 50 lbs
- Proficiency in English (read/write)
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain documentation
