Job Summary
PTA provides patient care under supervision of a Physical Therapist in an elderly nursing facility. Responsibilities include treating residents as directed, documenting care and progress, maintaining records, participating in resident care conferences and rehabilitation meetings, communicating with the supervising Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team, contributing to staff training, ensuring safety and infection control, and supporting families with maintenance programs as directed by the Physical Therapist. The role may require work beyond normal hours and temporarily covering additional positions as needed, with an emphasis on confidentiality and adherence to facility policies.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- Current license in state of practice
- Certification, if applicable, and demonstrated competency in identified areas of specialization
- Organized and detailed in work performance
- Good communication skills with patience and self-discipline
- Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility
- Compliance with Residents’ Rights and Facility Policies and Procedures
