Job Summary
Perform treatment, provide exercise instruction, and deliver patient education aimed at improving well-being while following the established plan of care. Observe, record, and report patient responses and condition changes to the supervising PT, nurse supervisor, and/or physician. Instruct patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare team members on therapy within the scope of the physical therapy assistant. Coordinate care with the broader healthcare team and adhere to state-specific laws governing home care physical therapy. Work in any home situation regardless of client demographics. Requires a current license to assist in physical therapy practice, a valid driver's license with vehicle access, and availability for weekend rotation. CPR certification is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice
- Current driver's license and vehicle insurance
- Access to a dependable vehicle
- Public transportation
- Available to work a weekend rotation
- Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility
- Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment
Desired Qualifications
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to complete CPR certification within 90 days of hire
