Job Summary
Implement individualized treatment plans to improve strength, flexibility, balance, gait, and functional independence for patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, joint replacements, neurological conditions, and other illnesses. Provide skilled physical therapy interventions, observe and document patient progress, and communicate treatment responses to the supervising Physical Therapist. Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises, mobility techniques, and fall prevention while collaborating with nursing, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams. Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with Medicare guidelines and facility policies, ensure a safe treatment environment, and participate in care conferences and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program
- Current and unrestricted California Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Knowledge of physical therapy principles, rehabilitation techniques, therapeutic exercise programs, and functional mobility training
- Strong clinical observation, documentation, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to safely perform the physical demands of the position, including assisting with transfers, ambulation, and therapeutic activities
Desired Qualifications
- Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), rehabilitation, or post-acute care experience
