Physical Therapy Assistant

Provide skilled physical therapy services and interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of a Registered Physical Therapist. Measure and record residents' motor function, strength, and muscle performance while monitoring patient responses to treatments and modifying sessions as necessary. Document patient treatments, changes in condition, and pertinent information, then observe residents to write progress reports. Relay information and referrals to the Registered Physical Therapist in response to service requests. Requires a graduate of an accredited PTA program, a current New York State PTA license, and experience in long-term settings is preferred.
