Physical Therapy Assistant

Physical Therapist Assistant in an outpatient orthopedic setting, working under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist to treat various orthopedic injuries including pre/post-surgical conditions. Provide interventions such as therapeutic exercise, balance/coordination and gait training, postural stabilization, flexibility, manual therapy, and use of assistive devices and physical modalities. Collaborate with Orthopedic Surgeons, Physical Therapists, Athletic Trainers, and other staff to support injury management, rehabilitation, and return to function. Maintain thorough patient documentation, ensure safety and HIPAA compliance, review medical records, and communicate significant changes in patient status. The role emphasizes patient privacy, professional etiquette, and adherence to APTA standards and facility policies, with a focus on growth, diverse practitioner networks, and comprehensive benefits.
