Job Summary
Counsel patients and families on post-treatment care while observing patients before, during, and after therapy to report notes to the Physical Therapist. Prepare therapy equipment for appointments, assign and assist patients with specific exercises, and utilize devices such as walkers to help patients regain movement and reduce pain. Apply a variety of techniques including stretching, massage, and appropriate modalities as instructed to treat patients across orthopedic, neurological, and medical conditions. Assist patients with mobility between therapy areas and provide accurate verbal and written feedback on patient performance. Maintain productivity at department average while using support staff appropriately. Requires a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, CPR certification, and ability to lift up to 100 pounds. Full-time or part-time roles available with health, dental, and vision insurance benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant
- Ability to commute
- Graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant curriculum
- Is able to practice unencumbered
- Is in good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards
- Working knowledge of Medicare and other payer sources
- Full knowledge of resident's rights
- Exudes professionalism in presentation
- Ability to multitask
- Must be able to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in the English language
- CPR certification
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Must be able to lift up and over 100 pounds with assistance according to the resident's abilities
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to reach assigned destination in a reasonable time frame
- Must be able to bend, squat, push, stoop, and pull as needed especially in fulfilling patient care activities
- Must be able to meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, including physical examination
