Job Summary
Evaluate patients, rule out contra-indications, and plan treatment programs. Perform electrotherapy, hydrotherapy, traction, and massage techniques while administering therapeutic exercises to improve strength and range of motion. Fit and apply orthotic devices, instruct patients on home procedures, and monitor treatment effects to modify techniques for maximum benefit. Document progress reports, complete daily charge tickets, and maintain accurate attendance records. Schedule appointments, maintain a clean work environment, and file incident reports per policy. Comply with OSHA training, emergency procedures, and the clinic's customer service philosophy. Licensed by Illinois and hold current CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Science as a Physical Therapy Assistant
- Licensed by the State of Illinois (PTA)
- CPR certification per American Heart Association guidelines
- Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedure code
- Extensive walking, standing, kneeling and heavy lifting
