Physical Therapy Assistant

Administers physical therapy modalities under the supervision of the staff physical therapist and assists with treatment and restoration of patient functioning. Participates in evaluation discussions, formulates teaching plans with involvement of the family when appropriate, and contributes to infection control, CQI activities, and departmental safety. Maintains appropriate records, collaborates with physicians and facility staff, ensures safe operation of equipment, and supports performance improvement initiatives. Demonstrates knowledge of physical therapy modalities, communicates clearly with patients and staff, and supports care planning and patient education.
