Job Summary
Provide skilled therapeutic interventions to patients and monitor their response to treatment as directed by the Physical Therapist. Document patient treatment and progress toward goals in the electronic health record while implementing established treatment programs. Educate patients and families, and precept students from participating colleges and universities. Maintain accurate records on departmental policies, safety, infection control, and timecard recording. Observe and report patient responses and progress orally or in writing. Work 40 scheduled weekly hours during days and afternoons. Requires state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant; BLS certification required within 30 days for BSMH.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of current practice
- BLS Basic Life Support
- Demonstrates appropriate application of age specific standards, policies and procedures and guidelines in caring for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Demonstrates general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management
- Analytical abilities to evaluate patient condition, capabilities and progress
- Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with co-workers, physicians, patients and families
- Ability to work well with all levels of patients, the public and other health care professionals
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills
Desired Qualifications
- BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, required within 30 days for BSMH, required at hire for RSFH)
