Job Summary
Implement physical therapy treatment plans under supervision by assisting with exercises, mobility training, and therapeutic interventions like heat, cold, or electrical stimulation. Monitor participant performance, adjust treatments within scope, and communicate progress to the supervising physical therapist while teaching families on home exercises and safety. Document sessions accurately, maintain equipment, and support transfers. Act within legal scope, uphold ethical standards, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and student supervision. This role is integral to providing person-centered care that aligns with BoldAge PACE's mission to help older adults live meaningful, independent lives at home.
Required Qualifications
- Must have reliable transportation
- Valid driver's license
- Minimum state required liability auto insurance
- Be medically cleared for communicable diseases
- Have all immunizations up to date
- Pass a comprehensive criminal background check
- Associate of Arts Degree from a Physical Therapy Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation on Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)
- Current state license
- Eligibility for licensure
Desired Qualifications
- One year's experience as a PTA
- One year of experience working with a frail or elderly population
