Job Summary
Perform designated routine tasks to support the operation of the physical therapy service. Assist the physical therapist in setting up patients for therapy and carrying out treatment programs, including weight transfer and gait training. Requires certification as a Nurses Aide, physical strength for patient assistance, and the ability to follow complex directions while communicating empathetically with patients and family members. Full-time, variable shift schedule with biweekly hours. Part of University of Vermont Health's six-hospital network providing advanced treatment options and compassionate care in northern New York and Vermont.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Certification as Nurses Aide
- Ability to follow complex directions
- Physical strength sufficient to assist patients in completion of rehabilitative therapies such as weight transfer, gait training, etc.
- Ability to communicate with patients and family members in empathetic fashion in support of rehabilitative goals
