Physical Therapy Aide (Per Diem Floater)

Physical Therapy Aide (Per Diem Floater) supports therapists by recording and editing therapeutic exercises under supervision, prepares and assists with patient therapies, handles front-desk duties, and ensures equipment readiness and safety. Responsibilities include scribing therapy sessions, preparing heat/ice packs and other modalities, guiding patients through prescribed exercises, maintaining patient confidentiality, managing supplies and inventory, sterilizing and delivering equipment, preparing treatment rooms, answering calls, and assisting with scheduling. Required skills include knowledge of Anatomy and Kinesiology, familiarity with therapy equipment, understanding patient needs, strengthening techniques, ability to learn in-service training, observe and document patient changes, maintain professional conduct, create brief reports, and effective communication. The role requires availability of 8 AM–8 PM on weekdays and some Saturdays, in-person work at Selden, NY, with hourly pay in the $17–$18.50 range, and potential coverage shifts from a home office.
