Physical Therapy Aide (Part Time)

Physical Therapy Aide (Part Time) across Central and Eastern Long Island clinics. Serve as a scribe for recording/editing therapeutic exercises under supervision of a Doctor/Occupational Therapist. Assist with patient care: preparing heat/ice packs, paraffin dips, pool assistance, guiding patients through prescribed exercises, and monitoring exertion. Ensure equipment operation through preventive maintenance, troubleshoot malfunctions, and call for repairs. Educate patients on proper equipment use and exercise routines; welcome and prepare patients for sessions; provide information and address questions. Maintain patient confidentiality and a safe, clean work environment; sterilize and deliver supplies; position equipment and patients as needed; prepare treatment rooms per protocols. Handle front desk duties including answering calls from physician offices, hospitals, and patients, and assist with scheduling. Maintain supplies inventory and place orders. Duties may include covering 15-20 minutes from home office with personal transportation. Knowledge areas include Anatomy & Kinesiology, therapy equipment, patient needs, strengthening techniques, restraints/behavior management, in-service training, patient condition observation, records writing, effective communication.
