Job Summary
Scribe for recording and editing therapeutic exercises under the supervision of a Doctor of Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapist. Prepare heat and ice packs, paraffin dips, and assist patients with pool access, exercise equipment, and prescribed strengthening techniques. Maintain equipment through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and sterilization while educating patients on proper use. Welcome, comfort, and guide patients into treatment sessions, answering questions and allaying fears. Manage patient confidentiality, maintain a safe environment, and prepare treatment rooms per protocol. Deliver equipment and supplies to the treatment area, monitor patient exertion levels, and track physical condition changes. Provide front desk coverage including scheduling, answering calls from physicians and hospitals, and performing other assignments as required. Cover Monday-Thursday from 3pm-7pm with a 15-20 minute commute responsibility.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to cover 15-20 minutes from your home office
- You are responsible for your transportation to and from work including any coverage shifts you accept
- The incumbent must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, completing tasks and demands and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate
- Incumbents within this position may be required to assist or find appropriate assistance to make accommodations for disabled individuals in order to ensure access to the company's services
- Knowledge of Anatomy & Kinesiology
- Knowledge of the equipment used in therapy work
- Knowledge of the behavior and needs of patients
- Knowledge of proper strengthening techniques
- Knowledge of the use of restraints and aggressive behavior management practices
- Ability to successfully complete in-service training
- Ability to observe, evaluate, and record conditions, reactions, and changes in patients' physical condition
- Ability to maintain appropriate attitude and conduct necessary to the welfare of patients
- Ability to create and maintain records and write brief reports
- Ability to communicate effectively
