Job Summary
Scribe for recording and editing therapeutic exercises under the supervision of a Doctor of Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapist. Treat patients by preparing heat and ice packs, assisting patients to the pool, guiding them through prescribed exercises, and monitoring motion. Educate patients by demonstrating proper equipment use and answer calls from physician offices, hospitals, and patients. Maintain a safe environment by sterilizing supplies, checking inventory, and complying with all safety protocols. Provide front desk coverage as needed, including scheduling assistance. Cover Monday through Friday with specific hours; work in a fast-paced environment requiring the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to cover 15-20 minutes from your home office
- You are responsible for your transportation to and from work
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Knowledge of Anatomy & Kinesiology
- Knowledge of the equipment used in therapy work
- Knowledge of the behavior and needs of patients
- Knowledge of proper strengthening techniques
- Knowledge of the use of restraints and aggressive behavior management practices
- Ability to successfully complete in-service training
- Ability to observe, evaluate, and record conditions, reactions, and changes in patients' physical condition
- Ability to maintain appropriate attitude and conduct necessary to the welfare of patients
- Ability to create and maintain records and write brief reports
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, completing tasks and demands
- Ability to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate
- Ability to assist or find appropriate assistance to make accommodations for disabled individuals
