Job Summary
Assess patients, review physician referrals and medical records, and develop treatment plans based on evaluation results. Provide direct patient care using established protocols, implement physical therapy treatment programs, and manage assistants and rehabilitation technicians. Document findings, progress, and instructions for patients, caregivers, and insurance companies, including daily notes, workers' compensation reports, and discharge summaries. Complete written plans of care with goals derived from evaluation findings. Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and professional partners. Requires a CAPTE-accredited DPT or physical therapy degree, current Virginia license, and CPR certification. Outpatient orthopedic care experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Physical Therapy program.
- Current Virginia Physical Therapist license, or eligibility to obtain one before employment.
- Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Experience or interest in outpatient orthopedic care, including balance and vestibular rehabilitation.
- Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans in an outpatient setting.
- Comfortable working independently while effectively managing a diverse patient caseload.
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and patient education skills.
- Proficient with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and standard Microsoft Office applications.
