Job Summary

Assess gross motor abilities, balance, and functional access within the school environment to improve student participation in classroom and campus activities. Plan and deliver physical therapy interventions aligned with Individualized Education Programs, developing service plans based on assessment results and educational priorities. Assist students with safely participating in routines, transitions, and activities while recommending adaptive equipment, mobility supports, and environmental changes. Coordinate with educators, families, and special education teams, attending ARD and IEP meetings to contribute therapy recommendations. Prepare evaluation reports, progress updates, and service logs, reviewing student data regularly to revise strategies as needs change. Provide services on campus or via teletherapy where permitted by district requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted Texas Physical Therapy license
  • Physical Therapy degree earned through an accredited program
  • Familiarity with IEP implementation, special education procedures, and educationally relevant therapy services
  • Ability to organize and manage assessments, student schedules, service delivery, and documentation independently
  • Effective teamwork skills for collaborating with families, school personnel, and multidisciplinary professionals
  • Strong written communication, clinical documentation, organization, and time-management skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Pediatric or school-based Physical Therapy experience is preferred
