Physical Therapist - Travel Contract

Job Summary
Provide skilled physical therapy in home health settings, including patient evaluations, development and updating of treatment plans, supervision of PTAs and HHAs, and coordination of discharge planning per physician orders. Travel to Saluda, VA for evenings shifts (five 8-hour shifts per week) with a focus on home visits, in-service education, and maintaining compliance with state home health therapy regulations; duties include observing and reporting patient progress, instructing family and agency personnel, and participating in quality improvement activities. Requires licensure to practice physical therapy in VA, CPR certification, a degree from an accredited PT program (doctoral/professional level), current driver’s license, and liability insurance; preferred candidates have 2–3 years of PT experience and prior home health or discharge-planning coordination experience. Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a physical therapy program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association, the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, or the committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation
- Current and unencumbered state license to practice physical therapy in the state of assignment (Virginia license required for work in VA)
- Current CPR certification
- Experience working in home health or providing skilled physical therapy in accordance with a physician’s plan of care preferred
- Familiarity with supervising or delegating to Physical Therapy Assistants and Home Health Aides preferred
- Proficiency with basic computer functions including email, internet navigation, and online training platforms
- Mileage-capable reliable transportation and current driver’s license. Agency-required liability insurance as applicable
