Physical Therapist - Travel Contract

Job Summary

Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with physical functioning disorders and wound care, following regulatory and clinical practice standards. Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based interventions to help patients recover from injuries and manage chronic conditions. Provide patient, family, and caregiver education while collaborating with interdisciplinary team members. Document all required clinical and regulatory information in the electronic record, including treatment minutes and comprehensive discharge summaries. Participate in required meetings, trainings, and in-services. Perform wound care, manual techniques, therapeutic exercise, and ambulation training. Supervise and support PT assistants, rehabilitation aides, and/or students. Work 8-hour days in a skilled nursing facility in Purcell, OK, with weekend requirements waived.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA
  • Active Oklahoma state PT license
  • Minimum 1 year of PT experience
  • Level II clinical experience beyond Level I observation
  • Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) or skilled nursing/rehab settings
  • Ability to perform standardized assessments
  • Ability to develop and document plan of care
  • Ability to record treatment minutes per regulatory requirements
  • Ability to provide wound care
  • Ability to provide manual techniques
  • Ability to provide therapeutic exercise
  • Ability to provide ambulation training
  • Ability to use modalities
  • Ability to use assistive devices
  • Ability to supervise and support PT assistants
  • Ability to support rehabilitation aides
  • Ability to support students
  • BLS certification from AHA or ARC

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience with electronic documentation systems in a skilled nursing or rehab environment
  • Experience participating in patient care conferences
  • Experience participating in utilization review
  • Experience participating in rehabilitation meetings
