Physical Therapist - Travel Contract

Job Summary

Evaluate and treat adult and pediatric outpatient patients for injury recovery and chronic condition management. Perform diagnostic muscle, nerve, joint, and functional ability tests to establish measurable treatment goals and modify plans based on progress. Provide patient and family education while communicating with interdisciplinary teams regarding discharge planning. Maintain documentation of patient activity, charges, and clinical records. Guide PT assistants, aides, and students while participating in department quality improvement and safety initiatives. Requires an active Massachusetts license, BLS certification, and a PT degree from an accredited program. Assignment includes days shifts from 07:00–16:00 for 13 weeks at an outpatient rehabilitation center in Chatham, MA.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA
  • Active Massachusetts Physical Therapy license
  • Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC
  • Experience evaluating and treating adult and pediatric outpatient populations
  • Experience establishing objective measurable treatment goals and documented treatment plans
  • Ability to perform diagnostic muscle, nerve, joint and functional ability tests
  • Ability to modify treatment plans based on patient progress
  • Experience providing patient/family education
  • Experience communicating with interdisciplinary teams regarding progress and discharge planning
  • Ability to provide guidance to PT Assistants, aides, and students
  • Ability to participate in department quality improvement and safety initiatives
  • Ability to maintain documentation of patient activity, charges, and objective clinical records
  • Monday–Friday, 07:00–16:00 (5x8) shift schedule
  • 40 standard hours per week
  • 13 week assignment duration

Desired Qualifications

  • Specialist certification
  • Prior experience serving as a clinical resource in a focused specialty area
