Job Summary
Provide school-based physical therapy services to students across districts. Conduct physical assessments of gross motor skills, strength, balance, coordination, and mobility; develop and implement individualized therapy plans to support participation and success in school activities; deliver direct PT services to improve strength, coordination, posture, mobility, and related skills. Collaborate with teachers and other school professionals to modify classrooms and develop accommodations, participate in IEP meetings, monitor and document progress, and educate families on supporting students’ physical development. Stay current with pediatric PT best practices. Roles may vary by state/district requirements. Requires a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy, active PT license, and experience with school-aged children or educational settings; strong collaboration/communication skills and ability to adapt interventions in a dynamic school environment.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- Active state Physical Therapy license in the state where services will be provided
- Experience working with school-aged children or in an educational setting preferred
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to adapt therapy interventions to meet the needs of students in a dynamic school environment
