Job Summary
Plans, organizes and delivers physical therapy programs to help residents recover and improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength and prevent deformities. Conducts examinations, evaluations, and interventions for clients/patients/residents affected by injury or disease. Documents information for evaluation and creates therapeutic plans, educating clients and families about treatment plans and self-exercises to be continued at home. Applies age-appropriate treatments and evaluations, integrates current research into daily practice, and may treat individuals of all ages. May supervise assistants and students and provide ongoing education to peers. May focus on post-acute, long-term care and home health environments depending on facility needs.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist in state(s) of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers
- Valid driver's license when applicable
- Obtains and maintains department-specific competencies and certifications
