Job Summary
Evaluate, document, and implement treatment plans for clients referred by physicians. Provide interns, volunteers, and job shadows meaningful educational experiences. Educate staff, clients, and external stakeholders on individualized home exercise programs and other PT modalities. Observe confidentiality rules and proactively initiate problem-solving to facilitate communication flow. Record evaluations, daily notes, progress reports, discharge reports, and service billings in accordance with procedure. Delegate and oversee established plans of care with Physical Therapist Assistants. Contribute to the design and maintenance of effective documentation systems, including the collection and analysis of outcome data. Maintain professional excellence through networking, resource sharing, and research contributions. Maintain caseload levels at a level deemed reasonable by the PT Supervisor. Provide caseload coverage for PT services and perform therapy gym maintenance duties. Participate in program development, budget planning, and small therapy supply inventory.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Physical Therapy
- Licensure in the state of Michigan
- Certification as a Brain Injury Specialist
- CPR certification
- First Aid certification
- AED certification
- Ability to talk and hear
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to palpate, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop kneel or crawl
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs
- Close vision
- Distance vision
- Peripheral vision
- Depth perception
- Ability to adjust focus
- Ability to assist in transfers, gait, and mobility training
