Job Summary
Physical Therapist Resident - Outpatient position within Presbyterian Healthcare Services' orthopaedic outpatient rehabilitation program. This role targets new graduates or early-career clinicians, offering a structured clinical education program, mentorship with residency faculty, and opportunities to advance in evidence-based practice, differential diagnosis, and advanced manual therapy. The resident will participate in didactic lectures, independent study, psychomotor labs, and clinical teaching alongside UNM Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency peers, with planned patient-care mentorship for 4 hours/week. Settings may include inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, community-based and home health care. The program emphasizes professional development, tuition/certification reimbursement, scholarship opportunities, and loan forgiveness, along with access to EPIC charting and safety resources.
Required Qualifications
- New Mexico Physical Therapist license required
- Bachelor Degree in Physical Therapy
- Doctorate of Physical Therapy preferred
- Must be enrolled in the UNM Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency Program
- BLS required
- Less than one year of experience in physical therapy
